Ditch the Workout, Join the Party!

About Me:

I was born in a small mountain town in Colorado. Growing up, I lived in Canada, and spent my teenage and young adult years in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. I was exposed to a variety of dance styles in Africa. I studied singing, acting and dance at Stageworld Theatre School, and through the Trinity College of London. Some of my most influential and enjoyable dance instruction, however, was obtained through informal get-togethers and house parties-African style!

In 2002, I returned to Northern Arizona, received further training in ballet, flamenco, bellydance and hip-hop.  I heard about Zumba from a friend, fell in love with the music and the party atmosphere and began teaching Zumba in 2006. I enjoy experiencing other cultures, and what better way than through dance?!

I am currently enjoying the Bend lifestyle, with the love of my life and husband of 4 years, and our two black cats, Saki and Pixie.

During the winter, I spend every weekend I can at Hoodoo where my husband works as a snowboard and ski coach/trainer. My goal is to become a good enough skier to keep up with him; but I’m pretty sure he’d have to break a leg for that one to come true!

One of my latest obsessions is creating random videos for Youtube- I’m pretty sure no one really cares about my cat’s new toy or the designer cat tree we are building for them in our garage... but, hey, it makes me happy!

I am passionate about music, especially songwriting on my guitar and recording those songs (again, for Youtube...)
